- **To My Future Wife, **
I don’t know when God will bring you into my life—or perhaps our paths have already crossed, and we simply haven’t realized what He is preparing for us. But wherever you are, I want you to know that I am working to become a better man—not only for myself, but for you and for the life we may one day build together.
Life, love, and loss have taught me lessons I could not have learned any other way. One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned is that there is a difference between being in love with someone and truly loving them.
Being in love is a feeling, and feelings can change with time and circumstances. But loving someone is a choice you make every day. It is shown in how you speak to them, how you listen, how you support them, and how you treat their heart when life becomes difficult. Love is not only found in the words “I love you.” It is found in patience, consistency, honesty, understanding, forgiveness, and in the little things you choose to do when no one else is watching.
I am learning not to simply tell you how much you mean to me, but to live in a way that allows my actions to speak louder than my words. I want you to feel loved through my presence, my effort, my protection of your heart, and the way I choose you—not only on the easy days, but especially on the difficult ones.
Through the losses I have experienced, I have learned how precious someone’s presence truly is. I have learned not to take love, time, or companionship for granted. I have learned that when God blesses you with someone special, you must value them while they are present—not only recognize their worth after they are gone.
When you come into my life, I want you to know your place in it. God will always come first because He is the foundation of the man I am becoming and the source of every blessing I receive. But beside Him, I will honor you as the woman He has entrusted to my heart. I will value your presence, protect what we build, and never allow familiarity to make me forget that having you in my life is a blessing.
I won’t promise you perfection. I am still growing, still healing, and still learning. My journey has taught me many lessons, but knowing them is not enough. I must live them. I must show that I have learned through the way I love you, communicate with you, remain faithful to you, and stand beside you.
I am learning to listen without always trying to defend myself. To communicate instead of withdrawing. To be honest even when honesty makes me vulnerable. To understand that strength is not found in hiding my emotions, but in having the courage to share them with the woman I trust. I am learning that love requires humility, accountability, patience, and grace.
By the time God brings us together, I pray that I will be prepared to recognize you, appreciate you, and love you in the way you deserve. And once He does, I pray that I never stop becoming a better man—not because I am afraid of losing you, but because loving you will inspire me to keep growing.
My journey of preparation may be nearing the beginning of a new chapter, but my journey of learning will never truly be complete. There will always be more for me to understand, more ways for me to grow, and more opportunities for me to show you what you mean to me.
Until the day God brings us together, I will continue doing the work. I will continue strengthening my relationship with Him, healing the parts of myself that still need healing, and becoming the kind of man who knows how to receive love without fear and give love without reservation.
And when you arrive, I hope you will see that I was not simply waiting for you.
I was preparing for you.
**With love, faith, and expectation, **
**Your future husband**
